This 4-star hotel is located in the town of Santa Fe, which is a historic place that was founded by the Catholic Monarchs in 1491 when it was initially their military camp from which they laid siege to the Kingdom of Granada, the last Muslim bastion in Spain and Europe. It is also the place where Christopher Columbus proposed his plan to open a route to the Indies by sailing west. Columbus and the Catholic Monarchs reached an agreement on 17 April 1492, known as the Capitulations of Santa Fe, and later that year Columbus would discover America.
